Mahottari Man Shot During Robbery, Gold Chain Stolen

A 30-year-old man was shot and robbed in Mahottari district yesterday, June 10th. The victim, Binay Kumar Mahato, a resident of Gaushala Municipality-11 Bharatpur, was targeted near the Maraha River around 6:00 pm according to DSP Santulal Jaiswal.

Mahato was struck in the waist by a bullet and taken to Janakpur for medical treatment. Locals reported that two armed individuals on a motorcycle approached Mahato near the Maraha River while he was on his way to the Gaushala market. The assailants fired shots before fleeing with a gold chain and bracelets.

Police recovered two bullet casings from the scene and are currently searching for the suspects.
