Capcom has announced the release date of the Street Fighter 6 DLC dedicated to Mai Shiranui, the second guest character who will be added to the already large roster of the fighting game.
The character seen in action in many SNK video games will debut on February 5th on PC, PS4, PS5 and Xbox Series Mai can be used in all three game modes, including Fighting Ground and Battle Hub, while it will be possible to meet her as a new Master in the World Tour.
Mai’s moveset utilizes a variety of familiar and new techniques throughout matches to control her opponents with flaming projectiles, diving kicks, and more, including:
Kachousen: Mai throws her fan like a fireball. When used normally, the fan loses ground to other projectiles and the opponent’s shots can knock it down. But when you hold down the input, the fan can no longer be countered by hits. Additionally, if the fan hits an opponent, it rises up and falls on them for another blow. Ryuuenbu: Spins forward in a fiery blast for combos or to control space. Hissatsu Shinobi Bachi: Performs a cartwheel and flies towards opponents to strike them with an elbow. The OD version sends Mai into the air to follow up the attack or surprise opponents below. Hishou Ryuuenjin: Mai’s Dragon Fist, which functions as an effective anti-air as she delivers an upward flying kick engulfed in flames. Kagerou no Mai: Mai’s level 1 Super Art, which sets the immediate vicinity on fire, can be useful as an anti-air move or to finish the combo. This move gives Mai five Flame Stocks, which give all of Mai’s level 1 and 2 special moves and Super Arts special properties. Chou Hissatsu Shinobi Bachi: Mai’s level 2 Super Art that launches forward in a blaze of glory that can bypass projectiles. Shiranui Ryuu: Enbu Ada Zakura: Mai’s level 3 Super Art, she flies like a butterfly and stings like a bee in a series of elegant fan strikes.
Mai will be available at no additional cost to players who own or purchase the Year 2 Character Pass or the Year 2 Ultimate Pass, but can also be purchased with Fighter Coins.
