Jhapa, Nepal: A man was arrested on Tuesday after allegedly killing his wife during a domestic dispute in Jhapa district.
According to District Police Office spokesperson DSP Krishna Kumar Chand, Bir Bahadur Chauhan was apprehended for the murder of his 37-year-old wife, Muna Chauhan, in Arjundhara Municipality-3.
The incident occurred on Monday afternoon when Chauhan struck his wife on the neck with an iron rod during a heated argument. Muna Chauhan died instantly, and her husband fled the scene.
Following a search operation by local police, Bir Bahadur Chauhan was eventually found hiding in the Jukekhadi forest of Arjundhara Municipality. He was taken into custody and is currently being held at the Area Police Office, Anarmani. Further investigations into the matter are underway.
