Biratchowk: A 40-year-old man drowned in the Madi River in Tanahun district on Sunday. The victim, Narayan Pokhrel, was a resident of Gaindakot Municipality-2 in Nawalpur.
According to the District Police Office, Pokhrel was swept away by the river while bathing near Shyamgha, Vyas Municipality-6. His body was found about a kilometer downstream from the incident site.
Pokhrel had been visiting his in-laws in Tharu village when the tragedy occurred. Local residents and police joined forces to search for the missing man.
