A lot of malnourished children in Makwanpur district have gotten better. In the years 2080-81, 133 children were very sick from not eating enough food. Of these, 59 children got better and went home.
The government has been working hard to help these children. They have set up special places called OTC centers in 21 health institutions to find and treat malnourished children. The number of children who are not getting enough food is still going up every year.
The government and other organizations are doing things to help people eat better. They are giving food to pregnant women and children who are less than two years old.
The number of children in Makwanpur who are gaining weight has increased. The health office says that children should be weighed 24 times in their first two years, but many are only weighed five times. This year, more children are being weighed than last year. The number of children who are too thin has also gone down.
