Sneha Lamichhane, a 20-year-old engineering student from Chitwan, has been found safe in the Pashupati temple area of Kathmandu after being missing for a week. The first-year computer engineering student had disappeared from her home in Kalanki on May 1st.
Police located Sneha on Wednesday following reports of her being seen in the Basantpur area of Kathmandu. Intensive search efforts, aided by Lamichhane’s parents and a widespread social media campaign, led authorities to focus their investigation within the Kathmandu Valley.
Sneha’s father ultimately identified her during the evening Aarati at the Pashupati temple, ending a week of worry for her family.
District Police Complex Kathmandu spokesperson, SP Nabaraj Adhikari, confirmed that Sneha is now reunited with her parents. While details of her week-long absence remain unclear, initial reports indicate she was unharmed. Further investigation is underway.
