Model and artist Dipesh Lama passed away on Tuesday. Lama was known for featuring in the music video of the popular song “Timilai sAMJHI Bato Heri Kuriranthe Ma Sanu Ma” two decades ago. Fans expressed their condolences on social media upon hearing the news.
Lama, 39, fainted unexpectedly while walking in Bashundhara, Kathmandu, according to Asim Shah, a relative of his cousin, a parliament member and film director. Lama had been battling hepatitis B for a long time, but a heart attack is suspected as the cause of death, Shah said. His body was cremated at Pashupati Aryaghat on Wednesday.
The song “Sanu Ma” launched Lama into fame. He appeared alongside Subani Moktan in the video, directed by Alok Nembang. The song features vocals by Prem Lama with lyrics and music by Sanjeev Singh. Lama also acted in numerous other music videos throughout his career.
