A tragic accident involving a school bus in Pokhara has claimed the lives of a mother and her young son. Aarati BK, a 33-year-old office assistant at LP Devkota Memorial School, and her 5-year-old son, Prince BK, perished in the incident.
The accident occurred this morning in Kristi, Pokhara-21, when the school bus, bearing registration number GA 1 KA 6219, carrying students veered off the road and plunged approximately 50 meters down a slope.
Prince BK, critically injured in the crash, succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at Gandaki Medical College. A total of 28 people were injured in the accident and are currently receiving medical attention at Gandaki Medical College and Manipal Teaching Hospital, according to Kaski Police Spokesperson Basanta Kumar Sharma.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
