Murdered in Udayapur Grocery Shop

Udayapur, Nepal – A tragic incident occurred in Katari Municipality-10, Sorung Chhabise, Udayapur, where a mother and her young son were found dead in their grocery shop.

The bodies of Nirmala Thapa, approximately 40 years old, and her six-year-old son, Aarush Thapa, were discovered on Thursday morning. The shop is located near the local ward office.

According to ward president Kshetra Bahadur Khadka, customers who visited the shop noticed the bodies. The mother was found lying on the floor, while the son’s bed was covered in blood.

District police inspector Umesh Mahato confirmed that authorities were immediately dispatched to the scene upon receiving the report. An investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the deaths.

The incident site is located 32 kilometers north of Katari Bazar. Ward president Khadka revealed that Nirmala’s husband, Ashok Thapa, had left for India with his second wife two years ago. They (Mother and son) had been staying in the grocery shop the night before the tragic event.

Resident Deepak Raut shared that Nirmala had spoken to her in-laws on Wednesday evening until 8 PM. She had instructed them to visit in the morning. Upon discovering the bodies, locals notified the police.
