Udayapur, Nepal: A shocking double murder has occurred in Shorung Chabise, located in Katari Municipality-10. A mother and her young son were found dead in their shop on Thursday morning.
The victims, identified as 40-year-old Nirmala Thapa and her 6-year-old son Aarush Thapa, were discovered lying lifeless on their bed with head injuries caused by a sharp weapon. Residents alerted the police after noticing the bodies.
A team of local police from Katari arrived at the scene and transported the bodies to Katari Hospital for a post-mortem examination. However, despite 24 hours passing since the incident, no family members have filed a complaint with the police.
Nirmala Thapa’s husband, Ashok Thapa, remarried two years ago and left for India. She had been operating a shop near the village ward office with her son.
The police have launched an investigation into the double murder and have deployed an expert team to gather evidence and identify potential suspects. Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajan Chapagain stated that the circumstances surrounding the killings remain unclear, and they are working diligently to shed light on the case.
