Heavy rain is expected in some areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, while light snowfall is possible in the high hilly and Himalayan regions of Nepal. Koshi province experienced light rainfall followed by heavy rain on Saturday night.
The Department of Water and Meteorology has issued a weather bulletin, forecasting these conditions and advising caution due to potential disruptions to daily life, including agriculture, health, tourism, mountaineering, and transportation.
These weather patterns are attributed to the influence of western and local winds, along with a low-pressure system around Bihar, India, which is currently more active.
As of Sunday morning, intermittent rain is expected in Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces, with light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning observed in parts of Gandaki and other provinces, including Kathmandu.
The department predicts that heavy rainfall may occur in some parts of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces later in the afternoon, with light to moderate rain persisting in those regions throughout the night.
