Nepal Faces Jordan

Nepal will write a new chapter in their football history tonight as they face defending champions Jordan in the final of the West Asian Football Federation (WAFF) Championship. The match kicks off at 10:00 pm (Nepali time) at the Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Sports City Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Nepal, making a surprise debut as an invited team, has defied expectations throughout the tournament. They reached the final with a thrilling 2-1 victory over Lebanon in the semifinals. Jordan, on the other hand, brings championship pedigree as the 74th-ranked women’s team in the world and five-time WAFF title holders.

The Nepali team will have to overcome the absence of their star striker, Sabitra Bhandari ‘Samba’, who is unavailable due to club commitments in France. Despite this setback, Nepal’s Cinderella run could still culminate in a historic victory.
