Dallas, USA – Nepal faced a challenging start in their T20 series opener against the United States, posting a total of 164 runs for the loss of 9 wickets.
After losing the toss and being asked to bat first, Nepal’s openers Anil Shah and Aasif Sheikh put on a solid partnership, scoring 27 runs together. However, the momentum shifted as the middle order struggled to maintain a consistent scoring rate.
Captain Rohit Paudel and Dipendra Singh Airee provided some stability, contributing 49 and 28 runs respectively. Paudel narrowly missed out on a half-century, falling one run short.
The USA’s bowling attack, led by Saurabh Netravalkar and Jasdeep Singh Harmeet Singh, proved effective in limiting Nepal’s scoring. Their disciplined bowling and accurate line and length proved too much for the Nepali batsmen.
Nepal will now look to bounce back in the second match of the series as they aim to even the score against the hosts.
