Biratchowk, Nepal – In a decision announced today, the Council of Ministers approved the replacement of the current map of Nepal on the 100 rupee banknote with an updated version. The new design will prominently feature a revised outline of the country.
This change comes as a symbolic representation of Nepal’s territorial integrity.
The Nepal Rastra Bank (Nepal’s central bank) will oversee the implementation of this new design. Production and distribution timelines for the updated banknotes are yet to be announced.
