A Nepali Army soldier, 24-year-old Constable Hemant Rawat of Jumla, has tragically died from injuries sustained while fighting a wildfire in Dolpa. District Police Office Chief, DSP Harikrishna KC, confirmed his passing during treatment at Dolpa Hospital.

The fire broke out in the Mastabhavani community forest of Thuliberi municipality-3 on Sunday afternoon. High winds caused the fire to reignite on Monday, injuring four soldiers from the Devidatta Gulm who were working to contain it.

Two of the injured soldiers were airlifted to Kathmandu via Nepali Army helicopter. Bad weather prevented the helicopter from returning for the remaining two soldiers, who were receiving treatment at the district hospital.
