A Nepali student, Govinda Sapkota, has been missing in Japan for over a week, raising concerns among his family and the Nepali community. Sapkota, who hails from Makwanpur, was studying at Nagano Business and Language College (NBL) after completing his studies in Kyoto.
Sapkota vanished on March 30th and has been unreachable since. His family reports that his phone is switched off and there has been no activity on his social media accounts. The Nepali Embassy in Japan, the Non-Resident Nepali Association, and the Nepali community have been alerted, but his whereabouts remain unknown.
“We are deeply worried,” said Sapkota’s uncle, Krishna Prasad Ghimire. “We urge anyone with information to contact the Nepali Embassy or local authorities.”
Sapkota went to Japan as a student in 2022.
