Houston, Texas: A Nepali student was tragically gunned down in her apartment in Houston on Monday. Muna Pandey, a 21-year-old from Bhojpur, Nepal, was found dead with a gunshot wound to the chest.
According to Drona Gautam, the vice president of the Nepali Association of Houston, Pandey came to the United States in 2021 on an F1 visa to study at Houston Community College. She lived in an apartment near Hillcroft.
The incident was reported to police after an unknown caller informed the apartment staff of a deceased person inside one of the units. Upon arriving, authorities discovered Pandey’s body. Her friends had been unable to reach her for two days and were concerned when her phone remained switched off.
The Houston Police Department is currently investigating the shooting. Pandey’s family in Nepal has been notified of the tragic event.
