KATHMANDU: The government has announced plans to honor the Nepali women’s football team, who secured the runner-up position in the recent SAFF Women’s Championship. Each player will receive a cash prize of Rs. 300,000.
According to Tanklal Ghising, Member Secretary of the National Sports Council, other team officials will also be recognized with cash rewards. The head coach will receive Rs. 200,000, while the manager, assistant coach, and team doctor will each receive Rs. 120,000.
Nepal narrowly lost to Bangladesh 2-1 in the final match held at Dashrath Stadium on Wednesday.
