Nepal's Losing Streak World Cup League 2

Nepal’s struggles in the ICC World Cup League 2 continued as they suffered a 3-wicket defeat to the United States on Monday morning.

After winning the toss and electing to bat first, Nepal posted a total of 286 runs. Captain Rohit Paudel led the charge with a brilliant 96-run knock, supported by half-centuries from openers Anil Shah and Aasif Sheikh.

However, the US batting lineup, led by Shayan Jahangir’s century, chased down the target with two balls to spare. Kushal Bhurtel was the pick of the Nepal bowlers, taking four wickets for 23 runs.

Nepal’s performance in the League 2 has been disappointing, with seven losses in nine matches. The team has only managed to win one match and share points in another. Their only victory came against the Netherlands in a bilateral series earlier this year.

The defeat against the US further compounds Nepal’s woes and puts their World Cup qualification hopes in jeopardy. The team will need to significantly improve their performance in the remaining matches to have any chance of securing a spot in the World Cup.
