Doha, Qatar: Nepal’s U-17 national football team concluded their AFC U-17 Asian Cup qualifying campaign on a disappointing note, suffering a 1-0 defeat to Mongolia in their final group-stage match.
This loss leaves Nepal winless in the tournament, having previously been defeated by Japan (9-2) and Qatar (5-0).
Odkhuu Soyol scored the decisive goal for Mongolia in the 78th minute, securing a crucial victory for his team. Both Nepal and Mongolia had already been eliminated from the competition but were eager to end their campaign on a positive note.
The AFC U-17 Asian Cup qualifiers involve 44 member associations, divided into 10 groups. The group winners and the five best second-placed teams will advance to the final tournament, which is scheduled to take place in Saudi Arabia next year.
