Monsoon rains are currently concentrated in eastern Nepal, with Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces experiencing mostly clear skies. However, some areas in Madhesh and Gandaki are seeing light rain with thunder and lightning.
The afternoon will offer a break from the wet weather for most of the country, with partly cloudy to mostly clear skies expected in the hilly regions of Lumbini Province alongside Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces. However, scattered showers are still on the menu, with the possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in several areas. Koshi and Bagmati provinces have a higher chance of these showers, with a slight possibility of even heavier rain in isolated locations within Koshi.
The monsoon is expected to ease further tonight, with mostly clear skies forecast for Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces. Lumbini province may see partly to mostly cloudy skies, with the chance of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning persisting in some areas across the country. Once again, Koshi province carries a higher risk of heavy rain in isolated locations.
