Randy Moss is considered one of the best wide receivers in NFL history. A member of the Hall of Fame, he dazzled with the Vikings, where he forged his legend before being part of other teams until his retirement after a 14-year career in 2012. Moss has just revealed that he is recovering from cancer for which he has been intervened.

The very fast player, who is considered the second best in his position in the modern history of the NFL after Jerry Rice, had stopped commentating on the competition’s games. He was a regular on ESPN’s Sunday special, ‘Sunday NFL Countdown’.

“I am a cancer survivor,” he said in a live broadcast from his Instagram account. Moss revealed that he had undergone surgery and undergone treatment after detecting cancer in the bile duct, between the pancreas and the liver. “As soon as I fully recover I will be back in the games.”

Moss played for the Vikings for seven seasons (1998-2004) where he had his best years in the NFL before being traded to the Oakland Raiders. Later, he played for several teams such as the Patriots, although he had no luck in New England in his attempt to win the ring, until his career languished with the Titans and the 49ers.

Moss wanted to make his illness public to raise funds to fight the dreaded pancreatic cancer. The Hall of Fame member (he was elected in 2018) put the sweatshirt he wore during the communication up for sale at auction. He stated that all profits from that sale will go to cancer research. “I have been able to survive, but we have to keep fighting. I thank everyone.”
