The District Police Office in Pokhara, Kaski has arrested a person in possession of more than 7 kilos of gold and more than 6 kilograms of silver.
Surajit Bhaumik, a 40-year-old native of Dasapur-11, Medinipur, West Bengal, India, was detained and is currently staying in Pokhara-2, Mohariya Tol.
The Kaski Police seized 7.781 kg of jewelry and raw gold from Jay Bhairav Jewelers in Mohoriya Tol, Pokhara, where Bhaumik is the proprietor.
In addition to the seized 6 kg of silver, Bhaumik was discovered to have Rs 6,281,000 in cash after his arrest on Tuesday morning.
The cops are investigating for more details.
