Ilam: A motorcycle accident in Mai Municipality-2, Ilam, resulted in one fatality and two serious injuries on Friday evening.
The accident occurred when a motorcycle (Na 48 P 8638) traveling from Jhapa to Mai Municipality lost control at Garuwa Khola Bridge, connecting Sitli and Namaste Chowk.
The deceased has been identified as 26-year-old Dinesh Karki from Mai Municipality-10, Gajeni Bhanjyang, who was riding in the middle of the motorcycle. The other two occupants, 32-year-old motorcycle driver Binod Limbu and 16-year-old Roshan Limbu, both from the same address, sustained serious injuries. Binod suffered head and leg injuries, while Roshan’s injuries include a left hand and mouth wound. They are currently undergoing treatment at Birta City Hospital in Birtamod, Jhapa.
Local police have initiated an investigation into the accident and have taken custody of the motorcycle.
