Nepali people have expressed outrage after former Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli promoted India using a video of Nepal’s Himalayas. Kohli’s promotional video featured scenes from the Everest region, which led to anger among Nepalis.

In his promotional video for India, Kohli included images of Nepal’s mountains and spoke about India, using terms like “India,” “Bharat,” and “Hindustan.” He highlighted India’s natural beauty, democracy, cricket, Bollywood, and rapidly growing economy. However, Nepalis were upset that the video used footage of the Himalayas. Here’s the Controversial Video.

Many people demanded corrections, stating that the mountains shown in the video are in Nepal. One person criticized Kohli for showing a mountain from Solukhumbu, Nepal, as part of India, and said that Mount Everest is Nepal’s pride, urging Kohli to feel ashamed.

This person also mentioned that while Buddha and Sita were born in Nepal, India claims them as their own, and refuted these claims as well. Another urged not to send wrong messages to players by claiming Nepal’s mountains as India’s.

Someone else said his respect for Kohli diminished after seeing the Chulu mountain in eastern Nepal depicted as part of India in the video. He requested Kohli not to post on social media about things he doesn’t know. Another warned Kohli, stating that Chulu belongs to Nepal and should not be promoted as part of India.

One person expressed respect for Kohli but pointed out the error in the video, stating that the mountain shown is in Nepal and warning not to claim Nepal’s pride as India’s. Another criticized Kohli, suggesting he lacks knowledge about his own country’s geography.
