Papua New Guinea (PNG) won the Tri-Nations T20 International Series in Hong Kong, defeating Nepal by a massive 86 runs in the final match. PNG posted a commanding score of 171/8 in their 20 overs after Nepal won the toss and chose to bowl.
Kushal Bhurtel and Aakash Chand led Nepal’s bowling effort, each taking three wickets. Karan KC and Gulsan Jha also chipped in with a wicket apiece.
However, Nepal’s batting collapsed completely, managing only 85 runs before being all out in 16.3 overs. No batsman crossed the 20-run mark. PNG’s bowling attack was ruthless, with Kabua Morea, Semo Kamea, Chad Soper, and Sese Bau each grabbing two wickets. Alei Nao took the remaining wicket.
This victory underscores PNG’s impressive performance throughout the tournament.
