A tragic bus accident in Rautahat district claimed the life of one person and injured thirteen others on Saturday morning.
The accident occurred along the Gaur-Chandranigahpur section when a passenger bus (Na 7 Kha 8414) traveling from Gaur towards Bhairawa overturned near Jayanagar Chowk in Garuda Municipality.
18-Year-Old Victim Identified
The deceased has been identified as Neha Kumari Giri, the 18-year-old daughter of Shailendra Kumar Giri from Madhav Narayan Municipality.
Police Take Action
Upon receiving reports of the accident, police teams from Garuda and Shivanagar reached the scene to assist. The injured were transported to local hospitals for treatment.
Investigation Underway
District Police Office Rautahat spokesperson DSP Aliza Giri confirmed that Ranju Devi Das, a 26-year-old passenger, sustained a broken right arm and is undergoing treatment at Grande Hospital in Shivanagar.
The bus driver remains at large, and authorities are actively searching for them. The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.
