The Chandragiri cable car service was temporarily suspended for approximately one and a half hours on Wednesday due to a power outage. The cable car came to a halt at 1:30 PM and resumed operations at around 3:00 PM.
According to Kathmandu District Police Spokesperson SP Nawaraj Adhikari, passengers stranded in the cable car were safely brought down using ladders. Once the eight passengers were safely evacuated, the cable car was restarted.
A team of 11 armed police personnel from the No. 9 Pashupatinath Bahini was deployed to the site as a precautionary measure to assist with the rescue operation, as stated by DSP Shailendra Thapa.
