Jhapa: A pedestrian died after being hit by a motorcycle in Bahradashi Rural Municipality on Tuesday.
The victim has been identified as 42-year-old Chyangwa Tamang, a resident of Naya Basti in the same municipality. The accident occurred in Janta Bazar, Ward No. 2, while Tamang was crossing the road.
The motorcycle, bearing plate number ME 4 PA 5156, was traveling from Kuti towards Rajgadh. The pillion rider, 19-year-old Shrawan Rajbanshi of Kachankawal Rural Municipality, sustained injuries in the incident.
The motorcycle driver, 19-year-old Devraj Rajbanshi, also from Kachankawal Rural Municipality, has been apprehended by the Jhapa District Police Office for further investigation.
Tamang succumbed to his injuries at B&C Hospital in Birtamod.
