A tragic incident unfolded in Chungmang, Dhankuta on Sunday, resulting in the loss of a child’s life and injuries to seven others when a pickup van was involved in a severe accident.
Dhankuta Police sources have refrained from disclosing the identity of the deceased at this time. The unfortunate event transpired as the pickup truck, bearing the registration number Ko 2 Cha 1619, met with a mishap near Bharati Secondary School while en route from Hile.
The vehicle, carrying a total of seventeen individuals, encountered a mishap that led to the loss of life and injuries. The injured victims are currently undergoing treatment at Dhankuta District Hospital, where medical professionals are attending to their needs.
Preliminary investigations by the police indicate that the accident occurred due to a tire burst on the van, causing it to skid approximately 50 meters downhill from the police checkpoint in Hile. The authorities are actively working to gather more details surrounding the incident.
