Mamta Kafle, a Nepali woman living in Manassas Park, Virginia, has been missing since July 30th. Local police suspect foul play after discovering significant blood stains in her residence.

Naresh Bhatt, Mamta’s husband, has been arrested on charges of concealing a body. During his hearing, photos from the home were made public by Foxfive.com, showing bloodstains on the carpet in Mamta’s room and the bathroom.

Police believe the blood is evidence of a violent incident. They used BlueStar technology, which makes blood appear blue under specific light, to identify a large amount of blood at the scene. Prosecutors argued in court that the volume of blood suggests Mamta is unlikely to be alive.

Naresh’s lawyers requested bail, citing the lack of a body. However, the judge ruled for continued detention, citing the potential danger Naresh poses to the community.

Further incriminating evidence includes Naresh’s internet searches about the timeframe of spousal death and his attempts to sell both the car and their home shortly after Mamta’s disappearance.

Friends of Mamta revealed she had confided in them about domestic violence. Additionally, discussions regarding divorce were reportedly ongoing between the couple. Mamta and Naresh have a one-year-old daughter.

Relatives from Mamta’s family in Nepal have arrived in the US to care for the child. The search for Mamta continues.
