Last year, one of the most anticipated exclusives for Xbox platforms was finally launched, Indiana Jones and The Great Circle, a game that was quite liked by enthusiasts of first-class adventure titles with touches of shooter and action that characterize the franchise. And although it received good comments from the press, it seems that not all players are happy with its duration in terms of number of hours.
A little over a month after launch, achievement data on platforms such as Steam and Microsoft consoles reflect that only 20% of players have completed the main story. This data is striking, considering that the title was available from day one on Game Pass, which expanded its reach to a wide user base. In contrast, the achievement associated with the prologue, “The Golden Idol,” has been obtained by over 85% of players, indicating that many abandoned the game shortly after starting.
The game, developed by MachineGames, promises a complete experience in approximately 12 to 15 hours. However, its low completion rate could suggest that users find it difficult to maintain interest throughout the adventure. This phenomenon is more evident when comparing intermediate and final achievements, such as “Sanctuary of the Guardians”, which not even 50% of players can obtain.
The situation contrasts with other 2024 titles, which, even being more extensive or complex, present better achievement statistics. Although it is common for many players not to finish the main campaigns of games, the case of Indiana Jones and the Grand Circle stands out due to its short duration and accessible approach. This behavior has led to speculation about possible problems related to the design, and that it would not have convinced all fans.
Despite these data, the charismatic archaeologist continues to generate interest among fans of the genre and those subscribed to Game Pass, who still have time to venture into this story full of action and exploration. Only time will tell if the title manages to maintain its relevance and attract more players to its outcome. Let’s not forget that it will also come to PS5, so it has the opportunity to regain its audience.
