In a significant political development, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal is preparing for a cabinet reshuffle that will see the inclusion of the Nagarik Unmukti Party into the government.
Sources close to Baluwatar reveal that Prachanda is set to nominate Ranjita Shrestha, the Chairperson of the Nagarik Unmukti Party, as the new Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation. This role is currently occupied by Hit Bahadur Tamang of the Maoist Center, who is expected to be reassigned as a Minister Without Portfolio following the reshuffle.
Ranjita Shrestha, a notable member of the House of Representatives elected from Kailali-1, has not confirmed her impending appointment. However, when questioned about the likelihood of her taking on the tourism portfolio, Shrestha gave a confident yet ambiguous response, saying, “If there is such a report, then say yes.”
