PM Dahal Secures Vote of Confidence for the Third Time

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has been granted a third consecutive vote of confidence by the House of Representatives. Wednesday marked the third time he received a vote of confidence in the House of Representatives; on March 5, the Nepali Congress (NC) withdrew its support for the Dahal-led government.


PM Dahal garnered 157 ballots in support of his request for a vote of confidence in the House of Representatives. He obtained majority support in parliament, including from political parties such as the CPN-UML. The prime minister received a total of 157 ballots in support and 110 votes against him; one lawmaker abstained from the vote. In total, 268 Members of Parliament were in attendance at the House of Representatives meeting today.
