PM Dahal Travels to New Delhi Today for Modi’s Swearing-In Ceremony

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ is set to visit New Delhi today (June 9th) following a friendly invitation from Narendra Modi, India.

Prime Minister Dahal will depart for New Delhi via Nepal Airlines at 1:30 PM to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Narendra Modi, who is beginning his third term as Prime Minister of India. The ceremony, where President Draupadi Murmu will administer the oath to Modi, will take place this afternoon at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Accompanying Prime Minister Dahal will be Law Minister Padam Giri, Foreign Secretary Seva Lamsal, his daughter and personal secretary Ganga Dahal, and Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Discipline Commissioner Bishnu Gautam. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Prime Minister Dahal and Prime Minister Modi will hold a meeting following the ceremony.

The Government of India has extended invitations to the Prime Ministers and Heads of State from Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives to attend the swearing-in ceremony.

Prime Minister Dahal is expected to return to Nepal on Monday afternoon (June 10th).
