Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda is set to travel to New Delhi to attend the swearing-in ceremony of BJP leader Narendra Modi.
With Modi confirmed to be appointed as Prime Minister for a third consecutive term, Prime Minister Prachanda is making preparations to participate in the ceremony.
A source stated, “Modi has extended an invitation to attend the swearing-in ceremony. However, the exact timing of the visit is still to be decided.”
Following the Lok Sabha election results, Modi resigned on Wednesday and dissolved the cabinet. He is now in the process of forming a new cabinet. During a coalition meeting on Wednesday, it was unanimously decided to elect Modi as the leader and promote him to Prime Minister for a third term.
The President’s formal appointment of Modi and the date of the swearing-in ceremony are yet to be confirmed. According to Indian media, the ceremony is likely to take place on June 8.
Prime Minister Prachanda is preparing to leave for New Delhi once the date of Modi’s swearing-in is finalized. Sources indicate that the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu is coordinating these arrangements.
After the BJP alliance secured a majority in the Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Prachanda called Modi to extend his congratulations. During their conversation, Modi invited Prachanda to the oath-taking ceremony. Following the call, Modi expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Prachanda via social media platform X.
