Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ made history on Sunday by officially proclaiming Pokhara as Nepal’s ‘Tourism Capital.’ The announcement, unanimously supported by a prior Cabinet meeting, was celebrated with a vibrant rally and lakeside ceremony organized by the Gandaki Province government and Pokhara Metropolitan City.
Festivities commenced at Basundhara Park, with colorful cultural processions winding their way to the picturesque shores of Fewa Lake at Barahighat, where the Prime Minister made the landmark declaration. The scenic setting added further splendor to the joyous occasion.
This designation solidifies Pokhara’s reputation as a must-visit destination known for its natural beauty, adventure opportunities, and rich cultural heritage.
