Kailash Sirohiya, president of Kantipur Media Group, will be detained for three days as part of an investigation into allegations concerning his citizenship.
The District Court Dhanusha approved the police request for a three-day detention, despite their initial appeal for five days. The decision was made by District Judge Chudaman Khadka’s bench, as confirmed by Shrestedar Kailash Bhattarai.
Sirohiya was arrested by the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office on Tuesday and subsequently transported to Janakpur later that night.
