A 27-year-old man, Kiran Thapa, has been arrested in Kathmandu on charges of character assassination through social media. Authorities took action after the victim filed a complaint alleging that Thapa shared intimate photos and videos with her family members on Facebook Messenger following the end of their relationship.
The accused, a resident of Shivapuri rural municipality in Nuwakot, was arrested in the Gongbu area of Kathmandu. An investigation by the Cyber Bureau of Nepal Police led to his apprehension.
