A Nepal Police senior constable, Hemanta Kumar Shrestha, died in a motorcycle accident early Wednesday morning. The fatal crash occurred near Baba Petrol Pump in Khairahani Municipality-8, Chitwan, along the East-West Highway.
Shrestha, a 43-year-old resident of Rainas Municipality, Lamjung, was stationed at the Manhari Area Police Office in Makwanpur. He was riding his motorcycle, with registration number Pradesh 03-003 Pa 637, towards his residence in Kholesimal, Chitwan, when the accident happened around 3 a.m.
Seriously injured in the collision, Shrestha was rushed to Chitwan Medical College in Bharatpur, where he succumbed to his injuries at 3:19 a.m.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation by the District Police Office, Chitwan.
