Four flights were diverted to Janakpur Airport on Thursday morning due to worsening weather conditions in Kathmandu. This includes three flights originally bound for Kathmandu: a Buddha Air flight from Bharatpur, a Yeti Airlines flight from Biratnagar, and a Buddha Air mountain flight. A Buddha Air flight scheduled to depart from Janakpur to Kathmandu has also been held at the airport.
According to Bhim Dutta Panta, head of Janakpur Airport, flights are expected to resume their journeys to Kathmandu shortly as the weather situation in the capital improves. While cloudy, the weather in Janakpur remains suitable for takeoffs and landings.
