A tragic bus accident near Aina Pahara in Tanahun district has claimed the lives of 27 people. Post-mortem examinations are currently being conducted at Bharatpur Hospital on the bodies of the victims.
According to Dr. Krishna Prasad Paudel, the hospital’s Chief Medical Superintendent, the post-mortems began at 8 AM on August 24. He anticipates that all the procedures will be completed by noon. Due to the nature of the accident, which involved a head-on collision, the post-mortems are expected to be relatively straightforward.
A team of three forensic doctors, led by Dr. Kashyap Shrestha, is carrying out the examinations. The decision to conduct the post-mortems in Bharatpur was made due to its proximity to Pokhara, which would facilitate the transportation of the bodies.
The accident occurred on August 23, resulting in the deaths of 27 people. Sixteen others were injured and have been transported to Kathmandu for further treatment. All the victims are from Jalgaon district in Maharashtra, India.
