Rabi Lamichhane Being Questioned Today by Cooperative Fraud Investigation Committee

The parliamentary inquiry committee investigating the misappropriation of funds from cooperative societies has summoned Rabi Lamichhane, the chairman of the Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and former home minister, for questioning.

Lamichhane, who was also the former managing director of Gorkha Media Network Pvt Ltd, is scheduled to appear before the committee at 2 PM today. Before Lamichhane, Chabilal Joshi, the owner of Gorkha Media Network, was also summoned for questioning at 11 AM.

The parliamentary inquiry committee, led by UML MP Surya Thapa, was formed on May 28th to investigate the alleged misuse of funds from cooperatives. The committee consists of members from various political parties, including the Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, Maoist Center, National Independent Party, and RPP.

The committee’s three-month term is set to expire on June 5th.
