The Department of Water and Meteorology reports that Nepal is experiencing the effects of western and local winds. This has resulted in varying degrees of rainfall across the country.
The hilly regions of Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces are experiencing widespread rain, with thunderstorms occurring in some areas. Other hilly regions will only see isolated light rain and thunderstorms.
This afternoon, Karnali province will see partly cloudy skies, transitioning to clear conditions. The rest of the country will have mostly clear weather, with only some cloudiness lingering.
Gandaki and Karnali’s hilly areas may see light rain and thunderstorms later today, with similar conditions possible in other hilly regions. High-altitude areas may even receive light snowfall.
Gusts of wind are expected in Gandaki, Karnali, and the hilly areas of the Far West Province. Additionally, the Terai regions within these provinces may also experience some wind activity.
Tonight, hilly areas will remain partially to mostly cloudy, while the rest of the country will have clear skies. The hilly areas of Gandaki and Karnali could experience some light rain and thunderstorms. High-altitude areas in Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali may see light snowfall.
