Ram Bahadur Bomjon Found Guilty of Child Sexual Abuse by Sarlahi District Court

The Sarlahi District Court has found the self-proclaimed ascetic Ram Bahadur Bomjon guilty of child sexual abuse.

The conviction was delivered by District Judge Jiban Kumar Bhandari. Ram Bahadur Bomjon is currently imprisoned in Sarlahi Jail, having been arrested by the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) on December 10, 2023.

While Bomjon has been found guilty of child molestation, the court will determine his punishment in a separate hearing to be scheduled later.

Bamjan faces multiple charges across several districts, including Sarlahi, Parsa, Sindhuli, and Sindhupalchok. These allegations involve sexual misconduct and the disappearance of several individuals.

Previously on the run, Bamjan was arrested at his residence in Budhanilkantha. His legal troubles began in 2018 when his mother filed a complaint regarding the disappearance of 29-year-old Rita Bot from Sarlahi.

Additional charges against Bamjan include the disappearances of Suresh Kumar Ale Magar from Bara, Karma Tamang from Nuwakot, Phulmaya Rumba from Makwanpur, and Sanchaman Baila. He is also accused of rape at an ashram in Sarlahi.
