Ravi Oad, winner of Nepal Idol Season 2, surrendered to the police at Jhalari police station in Kanchanpur on Thursday, in connection with a marital rape case.
Oad is under investigation for allegations of marital rape and unnatural sex, following a complaint filed by his wife on April 2nd. An arrest warrant had been issued against him, but he was out of the country at the time for a musical event.
Umesh Joshi, Deputy Superintendent of Police, stated that Oad is currently being held in custody, and the district court has granted an extension of five days for further investigation.
