Siraha: Eminent classical musician and singer, Gurudev Kamat, passed away early this morning at the age of 69. He breathed his last at his birthplace in Pokharbhinda, Lakshmipur Patari Rural Municipality, Siraha.
Kamat had been battling kidney disease for an extended period. Due to financial constraints, he returned to his hometown a month ago after being unable to continue treatment in Kathmandu.
A revered figure in the world of classical music, Kamat dedicated the past four decades to enriching the Nepali music scene. Born on July 27, 1960, in Pokharbhinda, Siraha, he gained national and international acclaim for his musical contributions.
