Regular flights have resumed at Resunga Airport in Gulmi after a two-month hiatus due to unfavorable weather conditions. Nepal Airlines has started operating flights today, following improved weather.

According to Suman Thapa, the station chief of Nepal Airlines at Resunga Airport, the day’s first flight carried 12 passengers from Kathmandu. The airport will operate one flight per week on Fridays, weather permitting.

The airport, authorized for three weekly flights, had been unable to operate since July 8 due to inclement weather. Morning flights have been affected by cloud cover caused by snowfall.

Nepal Airlines’ Twin Otter aircraft is used for flights to and from Resunga. The current fare is Rs 7,800 from Gulmi to Kathmandu and Rs 7,280 in the opposite direction.

Resunga Airport is situated in Simichour, ward number-10 of Resunga municipality. Commercial flights began operating at the airport last year.
