The Met Gala, fashion’s biggest night, took place in New York City on Tuesday morning (NST Time). A-list celebrities like Zendaya, Kim Kardashian, and Ariana Grande dazzled on the red carpet. However, superstars such as Rihanna, Taylor Swift, and Beyonce were notably absent.
Zendaya stole the show with two stunning looks, including a vintage Galliano gown. Transparent ‘naked dresses’ were a trend, seen on stars like Rita Ora and Doja Cat. Kim Kardashian made a statement in a Marilyn Monroe-inspired dress, while Shakira embraced bold red.
Other highlights included Nicki Minaj’s floral Marni design, Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt’s appearance, and the presence of K-pop group Blackpink members Lisa and Rosie.
The annual Met Gala, held on May 6th, is a major fundraiser for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute.
