The district administration office of Sankhuwasabha has issued a flood warning following a rise in the water level of the Arun River. The increased water flow has led to the overflow of a diversion tunnel in the under-construction Arun 3rd project in Fyaksinda, Makalu Rural Municipality.
The dam constructed for the project has reached its capacity due to the inability to divert water through the tunnel. The district administration has urged residents living along the riverbanks and those involved in river-related activities to exercise caution.
With the monsoon in full swing, the water levels in other rivers and streams have also risen, increasing the risk of flooding. The authorities have requested the public to remain vigilant and report any unusual river behavior to local authorities immediately.
